The Israeli army says 15 people across the occupied West Bank have been arrested.
Jordanâs king raises Gaza crisis at COP28
Jordanâs King Abdullah II says the war in Gaza is making climate change issues even worse in the enclave.
The king told the UNâs COP28 climate talks in Dubai that âwe cannot talk about climate change in isolation from the humanitarian tragedies unfolding around usâ.
âIn Gaza, more than 1.7 million Palestinians have been displaced from their homes. Tens of thousands have been injured or killed in a region already on the front lines of climate change,â he told a gathering of world leaders.
âThe massive destruction of war makes the environmental threats of water scarcity and food insecurity even more severe.â
Gaza health ministry calls for opening of Rafah crossing
Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, has appealed to âevery living conscienceâ to allow the opening of the Rafah crossing amid an âextremely catastrophicâ humanitarian crisis.
âThe medical aid that entered Gaza during the truce is only enough for one day,â al-Qudra said in a statement. âThe health sector in Gaza is out of service in every sense of the word,â he said.
His comment came after Israeli air attacks resumed after a fragile seven-day truce, killing at least 70 people in a few hours. Medics are struggling to help patients who are piling up on hospital floors amid a shortage of beds.
UN chief says he âdeeply regretsâ resumption of fighting
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says he regrets that fighting has resumed in Gaza and hopes that a pause in fighting can be renewed.
âThe return to hostilities only shows how important it is to have a true humanitarian ceasefire,â Guterres said in a post on X.
Wounded âlying on floorsâ in overcrowded Gaza hospitals: Health ministry

The wounded are lying on the floor in emergency departments and in front of operating rooms as a result of the accumulation of cases,â al-Qudra added.
Germany urges continuation of Gaza truce
Germanyâs foreign ministry says the international community must do everything in its power to ensure the continuation of the truce in Gaza.
Working to ensure that Hamas does not pose a threat to Israelâs existence and that it is disarmed is necessary to end the suffering of Palestinians and Israelis, the foreign ministry said on X.
âOf course, that would also mean that Hamas would have to lay down its weapons. Only in this way a political horizon can open up for a two-state solution that can provide security for both Israelis and Palestinians,â it said.
Iran blames Israel, US for renewed fighting with Hamas
A spokesperson for Iranâs Foreign Ministry says Israel has started âa new round of killingâ in Gaza âunder the continued supportâ of the US government.
In a post on X, Nasser Kanaani said âthe political and legal responsibility for the continuation of the aggression and massacreâ rests with Israel, the US and âa few governments that support this apartheid regimeâ.
