- Fierce fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters is reported in northern Gaza and Gaza City as bombardment of the besieged enclave intensifies.
- Gaza officials say 195 killed, 120 missing in Israelâs bombing of Jabalia refugee camp, which the United Nations says may be âdisproportionate attacks that could amount to war crimesâ.
- The Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, Gazaâs only medical facility serving cancer patients, is forced to shut down after running out of fuel. The Indonesian Hospital is running on a backup generator.
- At least 9,061 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel.
Palestinian mission to UN outraged by international âinactionâ
Dima Asfour, the first secretary of the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the UN, says international law is clear âabout the grave breaches being committed by Israelâ.
Speaking to reporters in Geneva, she noted the credibility of the rules depends on being implemented ânot just when convenient or politically expedientâ.
Asfour said Palestinians were âappalledâ by the âinaction of the international communityâ as Israel ramps up its bombardments on Gaza.
âNo government officials should want to be seen as complicit in the mass killings of Palestinian civilians or their continuation
We cannot remove this heavy concreteâ
The residential area in the camp was targeted by more than a dozen missiles, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent.
Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic are reporting that medical and rescue teams cannot access the area and people are using their hands to remove rubble and look for survivors and bodies.
When asked who he was looking for, one of those people removing the rubble said, âMy two sisters along with all their children. We are helpless. We cannot remove this heavy concrete. It is too late, even if we find them, they must be dead by now.â
Germany bans Palestinian prisoner advocacy group
The German government says it has banned the Palestinian prisoner advocacy group Samidoun as it moves to stamp out support for Hamas.
âSamidoun, as an international network, spreads anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda under the guise of being a âsolidarity organisationâ for prisoners in various countries,â Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said.
The ban means anyone who continues to be an active member of the group, which describes itself as a âPalestinian prisoner solidarity networkâ, will be committing a criminal offence.
As we reported earlier, the death toll in Gaza from Israeli attacks has risen to 9,061 people, including 3,760 children.
This screengrab, taken while a health ministry official was given updates on the casualty figures, shows a man carrying a childâs body, trying in vain to hold back his tears.
He gently kisses the head of the body wrapped in a shroud before breaking down.
Internationally accepted rules of armed conflict were passed under the Geneva Conventions in 1949, which state children must be protected and treated humanely.
However, Israeli air strikes on Gaza have killed one child every 10 minutes since the start of the war
Israeli ground attack hinders aid to hundreds of thousands
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says the Israeli offensive in northern Gaza âis impeding the delivery of humanitarian aid to about 300,000 displaced peopleâ.
Besides the large number of casualties and large displacement of people, basic supplies are running low for the 2.3 million residents in the Gaza Strip due to Israelâs heavy restrictions.
WATCH: Palestinians try to find survivors amid the rubble
Scenes published by a Palestinian journalist show people trying to find survivors under the rubble of a house in the Maghazi camp that was destroyed in an Israeli attack.
Due to continuous Israeli air raids and a lack of machinery, access and fuel in the besieged enclave, Palestinians have resorted to digging for survivors using their hands.

Sunak and Guterres agree on âurgentlyâ increasing aid to Gaza
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and UN chief Antonio Guterres, meeting on the sidelines of an AI safety summit in Milton Keynes in the UK, have agreed on âurgentlyâ increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Sunak and Guterres also âagreed on the need to reinvigorate international efforts to reach a lasting resolution to the conflict and progress work towards a two-state solutionâ in the Palestine-Israel conflict, according to a United Kingdom government statement.

Biden calls for âpauseâ in the war for the first time
President Biden has finally called for a humanitarian âpauseâ to Israelâs war in Gaza as the US presses to evacuate all of its citizens in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
âI think we need a pause,â Biden said during a campaign speech on Wednesday, after being interrupted by a protester who urged for an immediate ceasefire.
When asked what a pause meant, Biden said it was âtime to get the prisoners outâ. The White House later clarified that this was a reference to the captives held by Hamas.
