Somali telecom provider Hormuud Telecom has unveiled its 5G network in key areas of the East African nation.
The company has also announced that its existing 4G customers will receive free upgrades to the new 5G technology.
With the faster and more reliable 5G network, subscribers, especially those without traditional bank accounts who rely on mobile money services for business and leisure, are expected to benefit significantly.
Additionally, Hormuud Telecom plans to leverage 5G to enhance its disaster management systems through the deployment of IoT products equipped with real-time sensors.
